ASTD-Cascadia Chapter has its first CPLP!

What is a CPLP? A Certified Professional in Learning and Performance. It's the new credential from national ASTD.

Shari Ward is the first ASTD-Cascadia member to earn this certification. No small task; it consists of a written test, as well as a work product assessment, which map to nine areas of competence in our field.

Shari has been working on a number of volunteer projects with the chapter. She is an experienced training manager, which Pat Lake (VP of Series and Forums) is tapping for faculty in the Managing Training Series coming up in November. Shari has recently joined Genesis Financial Solutions as its Operations Training Manager.

Shari has also offered her writing talents to the blog, where she has been adding insights for new trainers as well as sharing her stories of what it has been like to earn her CPLP. Shari tells us, "The opportunity to contribute to the blog feeds into my Maximizer talent, which motivates me to help others discover and maximize their own strengths. I really appreciate the chance to give some of my time and effort to a profession that has treated me very kindly over the years, and I continue to benefit as the chapter connects me with wonderful people!"
