Volunteer, Senior Training Directors' Forum

This month ASTD-Cascadia Chapter is recognizing a member of the committee that develops the Senior Training Directors' Forum.

Jan Foster has been a sales professional for over 20 years. She was the recipient of great corporate training as an account manager for Xerox Corporation for 18 years, helped develop structure and content for training seminars and taught core sales skills at those seminars. After selling e-commerce and web development services for several years, she joined Planet Productions, a local custom e-learning development company, in 2002 as Account Executive. Jan works with potential and existing clients to understand their business needs and explore how quality, interactive e-learning programs can help their organizations achieve their goals. Planet’s custom e-learning programs cover a wide range of both hard and soft skills topics including product, software, leadership, and compliance training, new employee orientation, change management and much more.

Jan has been a key member of the ASTD Senior Director’s Forum committee almost since its inception four years ago. She has coordinated, moderated and presented Senior Forum programs on e-learning strategies, learning management systems, software training and project management as well as contributed support and guidance to many of the newer members of the committee. The Senior Forum was created to provide networking and strategic value to tenured training professionals responsible for learning and development strategies and budgets.

Jan enjoys her involvement in ASTD as a way to connect with training professionals, keep current on new developments in the profession and give back to the training and development community as a whole. She thoroughly enjoyed the recent ASTD Volunteer Recognition event where she won the top raffle item of a new iPod. You may see Jan swaying to the tunes on her new iPod at the next ASTD event!
