Kim Bishop
Volunteer, Conference Committee
This month ASTD-Cascadia Chapter is recognizing another member of the Conference Committee, Kim Bishop. Kim has been instrumental in elevating the visibility of the Chapter and our conference by obtaining new sponsorships..
Kim, a veteran of the US Army, is a seasoned business leader with over 18 years of experience in sales and sales management with the animal health industry. Because of her extensive business experience, Kim’s been teaching business courses part-time for the last 6 years at Portland Community College. Oh – and did we say she’s smart too? Kim has both a BS in Management/Marketing and an MS in Organizational Development. Recently, Kim started her own business as an independent sales agent for AFLAC supplemental health insurance specializing in small business. We wish her the best of luck!
Kim has been a highly dedicated chapter volunteer ever since joining the chapter last year. She has worked for the entire year of 2006 on the Conference Committee, heading up Sponsorships. Using her expertise in sales management, Kim has revamped the sponsorship packages and put in many hours contacting and securing potential sponsors. Through her efforts, the conference has gained sponsors at all levels. Kim additionally served on the chapter’s Events Committee in the last year, and was in charge of one of our major program events last year. Her attention to detail, enthusiasm and drive has greatly benefited each committee she has served on. Thank you Kim for your dedication and contributions to the Cascadia chapter of ASTD!
