Volunteer Recognition Event
December 8, 2005

Crossing the Finish Line is Just the Beginning

The Board of Directors of ASTD-Cascadia Chapter is pleased to hold this event that recognizes and says "thanks" to the many volunteers that help make our chapter strong. Without you, this chapter would be not able to provide the programs and services that help our members stay current in our field.

We have a special program planned, including great food, wonderful atmosphere, thank you gifts and an inspiring presenter.

So What Have You Volunteers Done for Us Anyway?

You gave us your precious time.
You shared your insight.
You've coordinated, calculated, organized, planned, talked, related, spoke, trained, facilitated, researched and wrote.

And What Did Your Hard Work Do?

You helped your fellow members.
You developed careers.
You advanced your profession.
You connected people together.
You fostered community.
You nurtured learning.
You went the extra mile.

You Made A Difference!

You have honored us with your remarkable efforts and we are grateful for your tireless commitment to your fellow training and development professionals.

You've invested in our success! So let the Chapter do something for your success...

Crossing the Finish Line is Just the Beginning is a program to expand your potential and enhance your success.

Between the finish line and the next beginning is a place where the winner chooses excellence. Winning and losing are events, but being a winner is a mind set, an attitude, and a commitment to continued growth and excellence. We inspire those around us to be their best not with grand visions or demands but by showing up with our own best. This program will help you become self-empowered and the creator of your own success.

Bobbi Kahler is our speaker for this event and she will provide an insightful, entertaining and inspiring program dedicated to all of you, our treasured volunteers.

At the age of six, Bobbi was told by a speech pathologist she had catastrophic speech problems from which she would suffer a life-long disability. She eventually became a star on her high school speech and debate team and completely overcame the speech problems to make her career as a professional speaker and coach.

For over 18 years, Bobbi has helped people enhance their success. She's is an expert leader, coach and facilitator, drawing on her hard-fought lifelong lessons in communication, language and leaderihp. She is a favorite speaker for national conferences, as well as other corporate and association events. Bobbi is a member of the National Speakers Association.

Bobbi's life work is helping others become self-empowered so they can truly realize their potential and enhance personal success. She's a frequent radio guest and she writes for many trade journals. She also publishes her own newsletter, a weekly jolt of inspiration, Success Builders Weekly.

Bobbi is a contributing author to the best-selling book Masters of Success (Entrepreneur Press), along with Lou Holtz, Harvey Mackay, Vince Lombardi, Jr., and many other successful people of our time. She's also a contributing author to Conversations on Customer Services and Sales, along with internationally acclaimed speakers and consultants, Brian Tracy, Jim Cathcart and Don Hutson.

If you have not volunteered with ASTD-Cascadia Chapter this year but are interested in attending this event, you may do so for the fee of $15.
