Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP)
Study Group
Your ASTD-Cascadia Chapter is proud to announce the formation of a pilot study group for the Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) knowledge exam and corresponding work product submission. The study group will start meeting the week of February 17 in preparation for the May-June exam.
As Julie Bulrice, Chief Learning Officer for ASTD-Cascadia, mentioned in this month’s Message From the Board, the Workplace Learning and Performance (WLP) field is evolving incredibly quickly. One way you can stay at the forefront is by earning your CPLP credential. The goal of the study group is to aid you in that journey.
In the study group, which will be facilitated by the Chapter's first two CPLP recipients, Kerri Nussbaum and Shari Ward, you will:
- See and use** materials offered for sale by National ASTD in support of the CPLP program, including the nine-volume ASTD Learning System and the ASTD Learning System Flash Cards
- Develop a study plan that focuses on your individual areas of need
- Learn test-taking strategies
- Actively participate in information and idea exchange with your peers
- Discuss each of the nine Areas of Expertise (AOEs)
- Receive input on your chosen work product
**NOTE: These materials will be available for use ONLY during the sessions. They will not be available for lending.
Prerequisites for the CPLP Study Group
Before you sign up to attend the pilot study group, you should have:
- Read the CPLP Certification Home Page
- Read the CPLP Fast Facts
- Read the CPLP Candidate Bulletin ( Pay particular attention to Chapter 1, CPLP: Is It Right For You?)
- Given some thought to which area of expertise (AOE) you want to pursue
- Identified several potential options for use as your work product.
We encourage you to see CPLP certification as part of your commitment to yourself and your profession. The brass ring of opportunity is before you. Grab on and get ready for an amazing ride!
