Tips and Tools for Developing Succesful Proposals
Larry Ferguson

No question about it. Proposals are a key ingredient to winning projects and assignments. But for most independent professionals (trainers, consultants and practitioners) developing a winning proposal can be intimidating, confusing and down right complicated. And, in some competitive bid situations (RFPs for example), it may feel like you’re gambling at Las Vegas for the winning number.

During this 1.5 hour interactive session on creating winning proposals, Larry Ferguson, a former Chapter President and Board member, will pull back the curtain on a few of the most powerful tips he has learned during his 15+ years as an independent consultant. Here’s a sample what he will cover:

1. The single most critical factor that will always kill a proposal -- before it’s ever written.
2. How to multiple your success factor by remembering one simple phrase
3. What basic elements need to be included in every proposal (bring copies of yours to see how they stack up)
4. How to avoid a “yes” or “no” decision when submitting proposals
5. Why a proposal can be your best friend when scope creep occurs.

Larry Ferguson is a senior consultant with Compass Consulting Group (a division of Larry Ferguson & Associates, Inc.). Prior to starting this business, he worked as an internal consultant and trainer for Legacy Health System, Corillian Corporation, and Regence Blue Cross/Blue Shield.
Some participants might recognize Larry from his earlier days when he worked as a commissioned door-to-door salesperson, selling cable TV subscriptions in N / NE Portland during the 80s.
