Fundamentals of Training
Overview
The Cascadia Chapter presents our popular Fundamentals of Training series. We have reviewed and revised all the sessions to provide you the latest information on these topics. The sessions have been re-designed and are specially geared towards those new in the training field who need an overview of these subjects.
Hundreds of Oregon and southwest Washington professionals have built their training skills in this hands-on 5-session series. If you are new to the training profession or just wish a refresher in certain skill areas, then this series is for you!
Fundamentals of Training is offered cooperatively by ASTD-Cascadia Chapter
and Portland State University (PSU) School of Extended Studies. The lead instructor for this course is Glen Fahs, Adjunct Faculty, PSU. Each session is 3 hours in length and will be facilitated by a highly skilled instructor for that specific session. You can register for each session separately or for the entire series.
The entire course is available for one hour of credit through PSU. If you are planning on taking the series for credit, please read the information on credit registration at the end of this section.

The sessions will be held in Training Rooms 1 and
2, which are immediately to your left as you enter the
front doors. These rooms are to your right at the
front of the building if you enter from the parking
garage.

their confirmation email.

| Refunds |
Refunds are
allowed if a written cancellation is received in the
ASTD office at least two days prior to a specific session.
No refunds are given after a specific session starts.
Refunds for those electing the credit option cannot be
given after the second session. |
| Credit |
To obtain the
one hour of credit, you must register for all five
sessions and then add $47 to that cost. The course
number for credit for ASTD chapter members if K2301D
and for others is K2300D.
To receive credit, you must attend at least 4 of
the 5 sessions including the last session (Mandatory)
and be prepared to do a paper as determined by the
lead instructor. Students taking the course for
graduate credit must take the course for a letter
grade and must achieve at least a "B" grade
in order to the credit to be transferable into the
graduate program.
This course is an elective for the PSU Training
Certification program. |
