A Blended Learning Solution for 5,000 Software Users
Michael Fasulo

How do you train thousands of people quickly? How do you address the training needs of many different job roles? When Kaiser Permanente decided to implement new patient appointing software, as part of its drive to initiate a complete electronic medical record, the KP HealthConnect training department was faced with the challenge of training over 5000 users in a two-month period. This challenge included meeting the learning and training needs of users as diverse as front desk receptionists to physicians.

This presentation gives you the chance to hear the solutions Kaiser Permanente chose. You’ll also have the opportunity to discuss options with your peers at this meeting. The presentation covers:

  • The strategic approach to this challenge
  • Blended training methodologies and deliverables
  • The tools and techniques used to build the blended training
  • How to manage a training rollout that includes over 35 Web-based lessons and 4 separate sets of classroom curricula
  • How to use both staff and contractors to meet training resource challenges
  • Lessons learned
  • Follow-up training
  • The training department’s role in technical support
