Culture and Training: Cornerstones for a
Successful Business Strategy
with Sandy Hunt, VP of Cultural Enhancement, Umpqua Bank
In an industry perceived as a commodity and characterized by intense competition, Umpqua Bank has differentiated itself from competitors through unique and creative culture. This strategy includes everything from the feel of the stores to every interaction with a customer.
People are the key to Umpqua’s success. Umpqua sustains superior levels of customer service and preserves its keys to success through comprehensive training and development of associates. They consistently perform at the highest level because Umpqua provides the training, tools and environment they need to succeed every day.
Training and development is a cornerstone in Umpqua’s ability to implement its business strategy and to sustain its competitive advantage. The growth of Umpqua Bank through acquisition has been especially challenging because of the influx of large numbers of associates. Comprehensive training programs are the only way that Umpqua has been able to successfully accomplish a unified approach to corporate goals and objectives.
Please join us with Sandy Hunt to learn how Umpqua Bank has built and enhanced its culture with training and development to establish and sustain its business strategy.
Goals for the session are for participants to:
- Learn about the Umpqua Bank Culture including a creative approach to measure “intangibles” through Return On Quality
(ROQ).
- Identify how to enhance the Corporate Culture through Training & Education
- Understand the benefits of training as it relates to bottom-line investment.
- Gain perspective on how to make training a value added investment for Executive Teams.
