Improvising Towards the Future:
A Few Tools for Facing the Uncertain
Gary Hirsch and Mame Pelletier

Overview

The overarching purpose of this hands-on session is to illuminate the link between improv practices and the competencies that enable organizations, groups and individuals to deal with new stimuli, react quickly in the face of uncertainty, and to change and evolve. In particular, we will explore using improv and story structure as tools for dealing with “what IS” vs. “what was SUPPOSE to be”. In addition, we will utilize the physical and mental aspects of improv to help participants network with each other and share relevant stories.

This session will be relevant to both internal and external consultants who are looking to expand their interactive tool kit. Indeed it will be an interactive experience: part performance, part workshop, and part discussion. Come prepared to be physical, and learn through DOING.
