Taking Care of Business
with Rita Bailey

Overview

This is your chance to meet the 2005 National ASTD  Chair-elect, Rita Bailey, and learn from her year of experience in "having a seat at the table".

Who are the new Learning Leaders and what are they doing to gain respect and credibility at the Executive table? Have we established ourselves as Learning Professionals or are we still regarded as “just trainers”. Taking Care of Business is about being strategic, knowing how to get things done and minimizing the risk of being cut from the budget. You will leave this presentation with concrete strategies and fresh ideas on how to link training and development to the bottom line.

You will definitely want to share in this dynamic presentation and learn to speak the language that every CEO will understand. Guest speaker, Rita Bailey, gets to the heart of what it really takes to “have a seat at the table”. She shares an array of experiences she has had during an extensive and successful career. She spent 25 years in various Leadership roles with Southwest Airlines. She is currently the chair-elect for the National ASTD organization. She now practices these success principles in her own consulting firm, QVF Partners.

Rita encourages companies to put people first. The profits, she says, will follow. Southwest Airlines has famously adhered to that philosophy, and Rita was in the thick of it as Director of Southwest's University for People. She knows how to make the business case for training, how to clearly link employee development to the bottom line, how to be seen as a true business partner.

Rita Bailey lives the philosophy that work should be FUN. Her passion is to help organizations focus on strategies that put people first and create positive work environments.
