Title Sales Training and Development Consultant

Responsibilities

This position is working within our largest subsidiary, Standard Insurance Company in direct support of our world class sales team. As a Sales Training and Development Consultant you will act as a consultant to management in the assessment, development, design, evaluation and delivery of training programs that support the development of our field sales professionals.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Drive development and design of complex curriculum tied to measurable outcomes and impacts to the sales organization. Project manage the design work of highly visible projects and recommend delivery method enabling effective learning. Design work will include development of e-learning curriculum, using computer and web based distance training.

• Facilitate complex topics and action learning workshops for challenging groups and senior learners across a broad geographic area. Ability to redesign class on the fly to meet the learning objectives for the audience. Follow-up post-session and utilize complex ongoing evaluation strategies to ensure success of the program.

• Conduct full business and training needs analysis predominantly for large groups and department initiatives that links learning objectives to application. Develop assessments, evaluations and learning workshops for field sales force. Provide results and recommendations to management for recommended training or program modifications. Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Business, HR, training or related field required, or combination of education and/or relevant experience. Graduate degree in Education, Training or OD preferred.

• 5+ years of relevant work experience. Ideal candidates will possess 10+ years of training experience, ideally with at least half of those years in a corporate environment supporting a diverse field sales team. Experience in supporting training initiatives within a wholesale and/or channel sales a plus.

• Advanced knowledge of adult learning theories, facilitation, consultation and collaborative skills. Ideal candidates will also possess web based training and web development tools such as HTML, JavaScript, Lectora and/or Captivate.

• Strong familiarity with various forms of program evaluation and performance measurement systems and tools. Experience in data analysis and vendor management a plus.

• Demonstrated ability in the development of training for adults and in utilizing consulting/business partnering model application.
