Title Senior Instructional Designer

Responsibilities

Kaiser Permanente's Learning Solutions Team has an immediate full-time position open for a Sr. Instructional Designer with e-learning experience. In this role you will consult on the right learning solution, develop the support and evaluation plan, and script Web-based training for mid to large scale national projects. You will be responsible for managing the schedule and budget for your projects.

  • Provide learning and training strategy consulting.
  • Assess target audience's learning needs.
  • Identify performance gaps and develop plans for the learning solution, post-training support, and business outcome evaluation.
  • Design and script large, complex interactive projects for national clients in a creative, team-oriented environment
  • Develop learning objectives and assessments
  • Develop storyboard/script with text, voice, sound, graphics, and descriptions and instructions for production team
  • Develop and manage the project schedule
  • Manage the review and revision cycles
  • Report on task and deliverable completions
  • QA testing of produced content
  • Attend team meetings; track decision and action items that emerge from discussions
  • Help ensure consistency with established course design strategy
  • Conduct post instruction outcome evaluations measuring effectiveness of training programs based on Kirkpatrick's levels of evaluation and/or "The Six Disciplines of Breakthrough Learning".
Requirements
  • 5+ years experience with designing interactive multimedia training
  • Bachelors degree in instructional design or related field
  • Proven experience working in a fast-paced development environment creating technical courseware
  • Thorough understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design process
  • Conceptual thinker, team player
  • Excellent communication skills with clients and coworkers
  • Attention to detail and strong work ethic
  • Exceptional writing skills
  • Ability to work under aggressive deadlines
