Title Manager, Training and Development

Responsibilities
  • Drive the MIS training and development function in order to support business initiatives in Application Services, Technology Services, Technology Architecture, Telecommunications, Datacommunications, and Business Systems Planning worldwide
  • Partner with the Corporate and International Training & Development function as related to general management curriculum as well as a variety of soft skill programs
  • Responsible for designing and evolving programs that address individual career development as tied to the business requirements (gap analysis, path planning, succession planning)
  • Designs, implements, and manages MIS University curriculum, programs, and specific courseware to address skill gaps, and oversee the selection and usage of various training delivery systems and certification/testing methods, ensuring the opportunity for the continual development of the MIS staff
  • Manages the MIS training lifecycle including a skills management and competency development process for the IT professional staff and end user community
  • Provides continuous performance consulting expertise to MIS staff and management teams in support of the Performance Management Program including guidance in goal setting, development of Performance and Development Plans, and career guidance
  • Designs and delivers ad hoc training for MIS employees on an as needed basis
  • Maintains connection to MIS population to keep current on training needs as determined by business initiatives and uses this information to continually freshen offerings of MISU
  • Manages the intranet web site for MISU, including tracking of training activities for all MIS employees
  • Measures training ROI and help pilot new techniques and strategies to improve training effectiveness
  • Work with stakeholders to prioritize skills retraining imperatives and identify skill gaps
  • Identifies drivers that will drive the analysis of roles and their associated skills and competencies
  • May assist with and/or drive Human Resources and/or MIS business-driven initiatives with the Director of Human Resources, MIS 
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Graduate degree in related field-HR, MBA or MIS preferred
  • Skills management consulting and implementation expertise, curriculum development, training delivery systems and certification testing and tools, team building, coaching and leadership skills
  • Project management experience
  • Must be proficient in MS Office suite of products, Word, Excel and Powerpoint in particular. Access and FrontPage preferred.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver training and development initiatives, garnering buy-in from key stakeholders
  • 5-8 years related experience required
  • Minimum of 2 years training and development experience with an IT organization, to include development of IT development curriculum and/or programs
  • Previous HR generalist exposure or experience a plus
  • Licenses or Certificates: ASTD nice to have. SHRM nice to have.
