A Message About Membership

ASTD-Cascadia Chapter is over 500 members strong! We find this pretty exciting because it means that the training industry is alive and well. We also believe it indicates that the Cascadia Chapter has a reputation for adding value to you. There are lots of benefits to membership such as:

• Discounted office supplies at Office Depot
• Discounted teleconference services
• Insurance

We provide new member orientations and delivered one in March. Although the face to face time is great, taking time to come to a meeting can be a challenge. Also, for our members that are not in the Portland metro area, attendance has always been a challenge. Therefore we are working on some new things this year such as new member orientations via podcasts and live webcasts. The podcasts will be pre-recorded so you can listen to it whenever it fits in your schedule. The live webcasts will be scheduled in advance so if you want some real-time dialogue, we can meet that need too.

Another new item this year is the Featured New Member. We want to highlight a new member on our webpage to help create even more of a community. Contact me if you would like to be a featured new member.
