Calling All New Training Managers!
By Shari Ward | October 2, 2007
Have you suddenly found yourself “in charge” of a training function? Do you sometimes wonder just how in the world that happened? ![]()
Well, my friend, you are not alone. I, along with too many others to count, started our training management careers in much the same way. You are talented, enthusiastic, and hard working, which is how you came to be granted this opportunity to shine. Would you benefit from some insights and advice from those who have walked in your shoes? Then come one, come all to the Managing Training program series being presented by your ASTD-Cascadia chapter. The two-day course is offered in four half-day sessions scheduled in Beaverton on November 8 and 9.
The course is designed to address the following core competencies from the ASTD Competency Model:
- Learning Strategist
- Business Partner
- Project Management
- Professional Specialist
Yours truly is presenting the last module, Developing and Managing a Training Team. The other four modules, taught by experts in the field, are:
- Moving from Training to Managing with Alice Wilmarth
- Project Management and Action Planning with Darci Allen
- Linking Training to Organization Performance with Dan Vetter
The cost is very reasonable ($200 for chapter members who register before 10/24) and if you attend the entire two-day session, you can earn one hour of elective credit for the PSU Training Program. Now THAT’s a great value!!
I hope to see you in class. Feel free to post a comment or question here, and for sure come on up to me and tell me you decided to attend after reading BlogCascadia!
